Captain Ernie Wagner, master of the steamboat Delta Queen, does an interview in the wheelhouse of the historic riverboat as it cruises to its home port of Cincinnati to celebrate its 50th Anniversary. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the sternwheeler is now a floating hotel in Chatanooga, TN. The boat is also listed on the National Register of Historic Monuments.

TV star Will Geer, who played Grandpa on the hit series "The Waltons" uses a young fan’s noggin to sign an autograph for her. In the background is the bow of the steamboat Delta Queen. Walton has just traveled up the Ohio River aboard the paddlewheeler and is getting ready for the boat’s 50th birthday celebration on the Cincinnati Public Landing. The boat, then owned by The Delta Queen Steamboat Company was headquartered in Cincinnati.

I discovered something in this photo which I need to be mindful of in the future. I need to light Nancy from the camera-right side when her hair is parted as it is here. The shadow off of her hair is a mistake, and her complexion is actually darker than Katherine’s. I also need to have my grip lower the light so I don’t get such an intense shadow on Nancy’s eyes. But I am happy that even with mistakes, I’m producing useable work.
Info: 1 SB-900 up and left fired through a Lastolite Tri-Grip transparent silk. CLS does the triggering here, as usual. Shot at 1/400th, probably should be closer to 1/250th. I had to punch the background a bit in post.

Italian Rock ‘n roll artist Little Tony (1941) achieved success in Great Britain during the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, as the lead singer of Little Tony & His Brothers. In 1962, he returned to Italy where he continued a successful career as a singer and film actor in many musicarellos, the typical Italian youth musical of the 1960’s.
